Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever. -Psalm 107:1
Several times in the Bible we are told to give thanks to God. God takes
care of us by meeting all our needs and He blesses us by giving us even
more than we need sometimes!
At Thanksgiving, we practice gratitude, or appreciating all the
blessings we have been given. This is what our verse says: give thanks
to the Lord for He is good!
At our house we talked about what yoga pose might be a good pose to help
us remember our practice of gratitude. We decided on chair pose with
wide arms to help us remember that God has given us more blessings than
we could ever hold.
Bring your feet close together. Begin to bend your knees and sit back
like you are sitting on a stool. Lift your arms up and hold them wide,
like you are carrying all the ways that God is good to you. Say out loud
to God a few things you are thankful for.
